Bile Flow and Circulation

Bile Flow and Circulation

Bile Production and Function

Bile is synthesized in the liver to facilitate the removal of toxins from the liver and their passage through the gallbladder. The gallbladder's primary role is to regulate the flow of bile into the small intestine, releasing increased amounts to aid in fat digestion post-meal, which is another critical function of bile.

While it is possible to live without a gallbladder, the liver is indispensable. In the absence of a gallbladder, bile production continues normally. However, individuals who have undergone gallbladder removal must address the underlying issues related to bile production and the processing of toxins through various detoxification pathways to ensure that bile remains non-toxic and non-damaging.

A common indicator of insufficient bile flow is constipation, as bile stimulates the peristaltic movements of the intestines, which are essential for waste elimination.

Constipation

Constipation can cause a backup throughout the entire circulatory system. If bile is not effectively moving toxins out of the liver, these toxins can accumulate in the blood, which is responsible for delivering toxins to the liver. Dr. Chris Shade, an expert in mercury detoxification, refers to this condition as “leaky liver,” analogous to the well-known “leaky gut” that allows toxins to pass through the intestinal lining. When toxins circulate in the blood, they can reach the brain and cause headaches, which sometimes correlate with constipation.

When toxins accumulate in the blood, they also back up in the lymphatic system, which releases waste and toxins into the blood under the clavicle bone at the base of the neck on both sides. Therefore, to detoxify your foot, the waste must travel all the way up to this point. The lymphatic system contains more volume than the blood, but its functioning remains less understood.

Unlike the heart, which pumps blood, the lymphatic system relies on skeletal muscle movement and the smooth muscle movement of its central ducts to facilitate flow. The presence of smooth muscle is crucial; otherwise, performing lymphatic massages while lying down and not moving would be ineffective. This lymphatic pump was first observed directly by a surgeon during thoracic surgery.

Lymphatic System

The backup of lymph is not a literal cessation of its drainage into the subclavian vein but rather a recirculation of waste and toxins from the blood back into the lymphatic system. A contributing factor to lymphatic overload is the extracellular or interstitial fluid, which the lymphatic system is responsible for draining.

This fluid surrounds the cells where mitochondria generate energy for various functions. As the interstitial fluid becomes more congested, it becomes increasingly difficult for blood to permeate through capillaries into this fluid, a process known as perfusion. Perfusion is influenced by hydraulic or osmotic pressure, and elevated blood pressure can indicate resistance within the system. This resistance may also contribute to the intensity of headaches. The cerebrospinal fluid serves as the circulatory system for the brain and spine, which are specially protected, and similar connections can be inferred for this system.

When lymphatic flow is impeded, the body may resort to expelling waste directly through the skin. While skin outbreaks can be an efficient method of detoxification, they are often undesirable, particularly when they occur on the face or cause itching. Facial outbreaks may indicate detoxification of the brain or dental areas.
